Congratulations to Maurice E Peterson! Maurice was voted 2024 "Board Member Of The Year" by his peers. He is in his first year of service on our Board of Directors and serves the They Got Your 6 Foundation as our Secretary. Maurice is a volunteer Firefighter for the city of Mineola! He is a selfless servant in our community, a hard worker, a family man, and sometimes, a comedian!
Mineola, Texas - Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient John Wright gets much needed repairs to his home after storm damage.
John Wright served in the United States Army from March 1968 until 1970 during his one tour in Vietnam. He recalled being under fire one night and said when he returned to base camp, he was covered in blood but didnβt know why.
βI didnβt know I was wounded it didnβt hurt,β said Wright.
He went on to receive a Purple Heart for his injury. After the war, he built his own home in Mineola with his father and two brothers. He has lived there for 43 years and about 6 months ago a tree fell crashing into his home.
After a phone call and hearing Johnβs story, we wanted to help this local hero.
